GRRN and the Northern California Recycling Association initiated a campaign to eliminate PVC bottles from the marketplace because of its combined negative impacts to the environment, human health and the recycling infrastructure for other plastic bottles. Victories include pledges from Johnson & Johnson, Microsoft, Crabtree & Evelyn, Nike, Toyota, Victoria's Secret and Bath and Body Works to phase out PVC packaging.
The PVC Campaign has grown into a broad coalition of environmental, consumer, and public health organizations led by the Be Safe Network and has targets PVC products as well as packaging.
